Overall I thought this was a very good show, not very many losses, yet still some meh points. A lot of thing hyping up No Mercy.
Wins:
Shawn Michaels/ Chris Jericho Confrontation: This was a great part in the episode. Jericho being himself. Shawn and Chris Jericho not brawling was a good idea, leaving readers waiting for No Mercy to see them go at it.
Yeah, I thought so too. A brawl is too overdone and I figured this made Michaels look stronger as well as keeping Jericho calm, cool, collective etc.
Axel Comuteza vs. Kylarnartia: This was a good way for Axel to get momentum for his match at No Mercy vs. Scott Anderson. It was good that it wasn’t that long. It showed that Axel was ready for No Mercy.
Right, Axle and Scott's feud definitely lost some steam over the past couple of weeks so I'm hoping the Match will light the fire again, so to speak. Regardless, it's a test run and depending on people's reactions I'll decide whether or not it's worth continuing.
Todd Grisham interviews The Miz: Typical Miz. Being confident, maybe too confident. The Miz preached how he was the best US Champ ever. Period. He said he beat Jeff Hardy at the Bash to win the World Heavyweight Title and he’s going to beat Matt to retain. That arrogance might come back to bite him on the behind.
The Miz hasn't been used since Bragging Rights in an actual Match, so I'm hoping to make this No Mercy Match memorable. But yeah, who knows?
Scott Anderson vs. Primo: This match is kind of on the Win/Lose edge. It was a win because it, like Axel, gave him momentum going into No Mercy. It was a loss, because I could have liked to see Primo get the upset, giving Axel even more momentum, maybe making him have too much confidence. We’ll just have to wait and see if it should be a win.
I was going to have Primo win, but from a storyline perspective it didn't make too much sense.
Tyson Kidd vs. Chris Jericho: It really showed Tyson Kidd as a great wrestler, defeating Jericho twice has definitely gave him a big name for himself, especially since this one wasn’t a roll-up. *laughs* Also, this has got to give Jericho a mental disadvantage for No Mercy.
Thanks. I wasn't sure how people would react (at first) to Tyson Kidd being pushed as a Main Event face, but we needed some fresh air in the Main Event scene on RAW and Tyson Kidd seemed like a solid person to fill that spot. We'll have to see how it plays out.
Losses:
Striker Boyd gets added to the Championship Scramble Match: Shane gave him it when he shouldn’t have. Boyd should have earned the spot, not just given it.
Well, in reality he was the previous Champion. So, a Rematch isn't completely unsensible.
Super Crazy vs. Mike Knox: Not much to say. Just wasn’t needed. You could have taken this match out and put a Scramble match qualifying match.
Yeah, again this didn't seem to go over well. I'm trying to push Mike Knox and sort of make Super Crazy relevant, but it's not as simple as it may sound.
Trent Barretta & Caylen Croft vs. Johnathon Stone & Chris Catalori: I’m not a big fan of people making their debuts wrestling locals. It shows absolutely nothing. It’s like, “Yay! I beat a local!” Just No…
Well, the Debut was mainly to get across their personalities and introduce them. Who else could they have faced?
